Tamiflu is what doctors normally prescribe. But if you don't take it within the first 3 days of having the flu it becomes ineffective. I had the flu a month ago and it freaking sucked!

You don't take meds, you rest a lot so your body can get on with making flu antibodies.
The flu last a week and the coughing lasts 2 weeks. With or without meds.

Flus are caused by viruses and so there is no specific medication for it. The best thing you can do right now is get some rest and take like aspirin or ibuprofen type painkillers. Keep hydrated.

I just had the flu and I used cough drops and NyQuil. Also drank lots of water and ate soup.

So when u take a vaccine, your basically taking a weakened form of the virus its self. So weak that your body can build immunity to it. The flue is a always changing virus so unlike other vaccine, we are able to take the flue shot three times a year.
