Is getting a job in the UK hard?
Hello. Is it just me or is it really hard to get a good job?
Honestly.... never mind English, Math's or Science, Job hunting should be the number one subject! It's exhausting and every failed job ap. is a kick in the teeth.
My CV and other stuff are here: www.dwbeck.com
Any advice?

lol everyone finds it hard, my dad had the same problem. If you are really struggling, go self employed. Like building, accountant, baby sitter. I'm not old enough to have jobs etc. but I hoped This helped :)

Hi, with a great CV it would not be that difficulty to find a job in the UK.
Just do some searches on the internet for the job you would like. The search engine will bring up a lot of job offers and the UK Job Agents advertising the jobs. Submit your CV to relevant Job Agents and soon they will start calling you for interviews.
Otherwise, the UK is also offering a lot of online opportunities to work from home where you can also earn good money.

Yes it is relatively hard. But in my subjective opinion, consider yourself in advantageous position comparing to those living far from larger cities and those elder than you.
From another point of view it is easy, as all you need doing is becoming active in your chosen profession. Like stop browsing Internet and do whatever you enjoy in your prosession.
You need to master to do 3 things at once:
*keep applying, and learn how to make your applications look better and what position fit you better
*keep gaining relevant experience (by the way, it might help making you self-employed), grasp every relevant opportunity
*build up contact base of people who know you professionally (to be used as references, as your job search agents, as possible business contacts, etc but also as your sincere friends!)
*keep learning and getting certificates and diplomas
A good option might be to have a look abroad.
Another good option would be to start up your own business. If you are able to organise yourself, you can make it. And even failing it won't mean you can't start it over again, if you like. Some advantages:
* Better paid (comparing to a similar business of a similar scale)
* You can make your business grow and pay yourself even better
* You open workplaces for others
There are drawbacks too, like you can't really go on holidays unless you've got a trusted manager.
Good luck in whatever YOU ARE DOING!

Cannot be that hard. There are jobs in agriculture catering, seagoing and the skilled trades. Unfortunately they start on low wages and have to move to new areas. You can back it up with college attendance in your spare time to get promotion. Tried apprenticeship? Once you got the skill you have a job for life.

My experience is jobs 1 & 2 were hard to get, after that it got easy. I'm in digital though and there's a skills shortage. I think it's very hard for graduates but I also found it really hard to get my first jobs after graduation. Once you get experience I think you are more in demand - I had to do a 1 month unpaid internship overseas before I could even get my first job.

Keep On Trying ! Quitters NEVER Win ! Winners NEVER Quit !
N.B. My Best Advice for Voters @ the next General Election in the United Kingdom is :- DO NOT VOTE CONSERVATIVE ! DO NOT VOTE FOR DAVID CAMERON (a.k.a. 'CAMORON') ! DO NOT VOTE LIBERAL DEMOCRAT ! DO NOT VOTE NICK CLEGG ! These 2 Political Parties (?) have a Really BIG Sign that is hanging over the United Kingdom = 'Con/Dem' & this they have been doing > 100%+ SUCCESSFULLY ! The Electorate (Me included !) did NOT vote to elect this HIGHLY UNPOPULAR Government !

A friend just tried for a position as a trial service receptionist at a local garage who kindly asked for people who were longer term unemployed. There were 600 applicants, some with management experience.......
