I was told in 1960 that Jesus return along with Armageddon would definately be over and done with by 1975-proved with dates and other facts and figures and then I read Math 24 properly.. Especially the part that says "Make sure that no man decieves you".

When did Jesus SAY He would return? If we listen to traditions of men, we could be deceived. But by listening to Jesus, we are assured of absolute Truth. You may find this strange, but what traditions teach today, and what Jesus actually said, are very different...
Remember as you read these verses, WHO Jesus was talking to:
"Verily I say to you, There are some standing here, who shall not taste death, till they shall see the Son of man coming in His kingdom." - Matt 16:28
"When you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place." - Matt 24:33-34
"But whenever they persecute you in one city, flee to the next; for truly I say to you, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes." - Matt 10:23
Jesus' return was not to end our planet, since earth endures forever. (Eccl 1:4, Psa 78:69, 104:5)
Jesus' return was to end the "heavens & earth" of old, which was the Old Covenant world, the first system of righteousness under the Temple sacrifices. Jesus' sacrifice abolished this, but it wasn't until AD70 (40 years after Jesus' ascension) that the Temple was destroyed and made obsolete. THIS is what the return of Christ was about, the transition between the Old and New Covenants, which marked the Presence of God leaving the Temple built with hands, and entering those sealed with the Spirit, the 'living' temples.
This is the present reformation going on in Christianity now... it brings much harmony to passages of Scripture that were often thought contradictory or obscure. It reveals that God does indeed know how to tell time and fulfill His promises.

While you were reading "Math" 24... did you also read verse 34?
"Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."
I think that generation passed a LOOOOONG time ago.
Other places where Jesus said his return would be during the lifetime of his followers in 30AD:
Matthew 16:28, Luke 9:27, Matthew 23:36, Matthew 24:34, Matthew 26:64, Mark 9:1, Mark 13:30, Mark 14:62, Luke 21:32, and John 21:22
Of course, Paul of Tarsus was POSITIVE that it would happen in HIS lifetime.. and wrote about it a lot in his letters: 1 Corinthians 1:7-8, 1 Corinthians 7:29, Philippians 1:10, 1 Thessalonians 4:17, Thessalonians 5:23
Even the Book of Revelation said that the "time is at hand"... back when it was written nearly 2,000 years ago (Revelation 1:3)

Of the time and date of the return of Jesus knows no man and Christians are told not to think about that for Jesus said "at such a time as you think not, the Son of Man will come."
The New Testament tells us to watch for the signs of the time and that terrible times will come with earthquakes and natural disasters. Many Christians believe the time is very close now and I believe that too. Try reading Matthew Chapter 24 for what Jesus said about his return to earth to gather his saints (believers) to beam up perhaps in modern language, his followers to heaven.

The people of his time asked Jesus the same thing. They said Jesus Jesus when will Jesus come? All prophet's are treated the same way by the people of their time. Rejected and persecuted until they leave their temple then they say Hey this guy was from God!!

Nobody knows, not even Jesus himself:
Matthew 24:26
“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.

Facts?
There is absolutely no known evidence to suggest Jesus' stories are true. Yes, he is proved to have existed, but all the miracles and stories about him are not confirmed true by anyone.

He came by my house yesterday to do my lawn. I don't know when he'll come by yours. Did you forget to pay him? He doesn't like that.
