I need Army MOS advice?

First off, I would like to apologize for using the question portion to write a statement.

I'm joining the ARNG,

I just made it through the dreaded MEPS, and got a 96 on the AFQT (ASVAB)

I initially intended to join and do 68w (medicine),

but after seeing my scores, my recruiter strongly suggests I join military intelligence, and I think some of the occupations look interesting and intellectually stimulating.

In the civilian world I will be an EMT/Paramedic

So, my question is, should I do 68w -- will the experience I get transfer over in a significant way to my civilian medical career.

Or should I go ahead and do MI, in order to take advantage of my full potential.

Thanks.

Before even picking an MOS, you need to look at what MOS slots are open in the nearby NG units.

Doesn't make any sense to pick an MOS and then find out there's no openings in the NG units in a 200 mile radius.

And what training you in the NG, your civilian training is going to surpass your military training. You need to think of the NG as a part time job. Do you really want to do the same job for your full time job and your part time job? Most people would say no. This is an opportunity to do something different.
