I think he pulled them off. Maybe something blue or green *would* have been better, but very few guys are able to wear pink and not look girly. I liked the fact that he sort of made a statement with them :)
@ Now Now: His fans must have a good sense of humor then :p

I've always noticed, and wondered about, his need for black and dark blue; they're such heavy colors, I'd think none of them would want that anywhere near them.
Although, obviously, it's been no major problem so far, I haven't neccessarily approved of that and the mix-and-match of darks and lights; to me it seems like it would be a distraction.
People in high-stress situations can be utterly aware of every tiny detail and that would Really bug me if I was there. I'd want to be unaware of anything but exactly what I wanted to know.
However, pink and black are a reasonable combination. It's black and yellow that would begin to give me pause, and no one should ever need yellow and purple.

He had four pairs. He asked people on Facebook to vote and they must have selected the pink ones.

To be honest, I dislike them ... a lot!
He asked the fans on facebook to choose between these 4 pair of shoes, which he would wear at the AO:

The blue pair won so I don't know why he chose to wear the pink one who wasn't even in the competition :/

Ugly, terrible, horrendous. I don't care how much he was paid to wear them, it wasn't enough
