Can a language teacher give me advice about learning a language?

I've been trying to teach myself the Russian language for about two years and consider myself an "advanced beginner." I recently hit a major wall with the grammar; all those conjugations ,irregular verbs and cases are giving me headaches. I can't possibly memorize all the rules. I'm not striving for fluency but is it possible to learn enough to communicate at a basic level without being totally proficient with grammar? I'm having thoughts of giving up ) :

    Don't give up!

Russian is a difficult language to master!

If you have the basics covered than you just need lots of practice having conversations with people in Russian! They will understand you even though your grammar could be pretty poor. Perhaps you could ask to be corrected if you make mistakes and with time you'll get better and better! Watch movies and shows in Russian and it all will 'click'.

    Good luck!

    All the best!

I appreciate it though I'm not a language teacher. I hope you can make it because you have the spirit which is the most important thing. Here is a site that might help.

    Wish you all the best.
