What is heaven really like?

I just participated in a post on what heaven was like. There wasn't a lot of responses, but some thought heaven was a place where we could sculpt and write books and paint. Really?

Is that what we are called for?

So what does God's Word say heaven will be like?

What will be our job if we are faithful unto death?

What is the job of the Bride of Christ?

What is the job of the Great Multitude?

Please provide scriptures to back up your answers.

Thanks

I'll let you find the scripture. But people always quote: 'Eye hath not seen'...

and they miss the next verse, always for sure, they don't see it.

So since people haven't seen it, I will just say it is the next verse.

So then in the Spirit we know. We know what God put here, and

it's not so hard to extrapolate.

Oh, we know about the chosen people also, what they are about

and we know we are adopted into Abraham, so we do

similar to the Jews, but adopted.

We know that God gave us all gifts such as music, singing,

    gardening, and many other things.

You think this teeny tiny place called earth is all there will be for us?

That would be like the time of Galileo when it was thought the

earth was the center of all things.

For sure, God will reside here because that's always what

the victor does. And Jesus did in fact love Jerusalem.

And He will certainly fellowship with His chosen people.

And then there IS the Holy City which is 500 miles square...

so many, many rooms...'in My Father's house are many rooms'

    (not mansions).

The bride of Christ will bring forth fruit...how this will be done

is not known yet but God always increases.

A bride and a groom marry, ...but as Jesus said, there

are no male and female in the Heavens.

We know there are time periods. There is the thousand(s) of years

since this word thousand can be plural also.

And we know that 'a day is as a thousand years', so it could

all take a very long time.

I'm thrilled to have been invited to the marriage feast as

part of the bride of Christ, aren't you? And then there

are all the guests as well.

We can only see this with the new man, the new spirit

    never with the old.

When Jesus talks about heaven (as when other Jews of His day talked about heaven), He is *usually* talking about God. Mentioning the Name was frowned upon (and still is for many) lest one come too close to profaning it. So in most though not all cases "heaven" may be taken to mean God. So the kingdom of heaven is the kingdom of God.

Now I will tell you what the kingdom of God is. When we love one another as He has loved us, that is the kingdom of God. When we lift up those who have fallen, that is the kingdom of God. When we call our wayward brothers and sisters back into the family (or in for the first time), that is the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God doesn't end with this present age, but it HAS already begun. It is the treasure hid in a field, the mustard seed, the leaven in the lump of dough. Hidden, growing, spreading through the whole lump. That is the kingdom of God.

I think it possible and (imo) likely that we will spend some time waiting in the celestial heaven (as in a place), wherever that might be and whatever it may be like -- until the return of Christ and the resurrection of His bride. After that event, however, the habitation of the bride and the bridegroom will be on the earth for a thousand years, followed by the GWT judgment and the renewal of heaven and earth, when the New Jerusalem will descend from heaven and light upon the earth, and God will dwell in it, and He will be with His people and dwell among them.

So heaven is here, only better. As to what we'll be doing, scripture doesn't say. It will be good.

It's a glorious place where we will be in the presence of the Lord and the music and atmosphere will be glorious. We will have perfect hearing and no disabilities or sicknesses of any kind. We will love to worship and praise the Lord. There is a river that runs through with fruit trees of every kind on both sides of the river, and many beautiful places.

Here dearheart, maybe this will help.

read genesis 1-8 to understand what the make up of heaven is like, here we find that it is above the waters above the earth, not the waters on the earth, but above it, like as in above the clouds, it is the third heaven and it is separated from what is beneath on the earth with water which appears to be frozen like unto glass.

understand that there are 3 heaven and earth ages, God dwells in the third heaven for it is is throne.

Go to REVELATIONS 4:6 and find here that "before the throne was a sea of glass like unto fire and crystal. the throne is guarded by four seraphim who are covered with eyes, but there is nothing horrible about that, they protect and watch over his throne.

the elders seated at the table are the patriarchs, they are harmless, so that ridicule and mockery from tess tickle comes from an atheist non believer who like satan knows the word, but are not hearers or doers of it, they are scripture lawyers, who like the fool has said in their hearts there is no god.

also, christians fear nothing of their Heavenly Father, but one thing He has assured us of is that there are NO TEARS IN HEAVEN. God is not slack in His promises dearheart.

Also, heaven will be the new earth after we are gathered back to Jesus at the 7th trump. remember at the 6th trump those who whored with satan and his followers will be in the lake of fire, the earth will be new and we will dwell here in peace with God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

If we are faithful until death, Christ said He would give us the crown of life. Rev. 2:10

The job of the bride of christ is to remain a virgin, that means clean and clear of following satan and doing satan's business, 2 Cor. 11:2.

The great multitude will praise God and rejoice, they will also teach for a thousand years, and sing the song of moses.

The Bible tells us a few things about heaven but apparently God chooses to surprise us. Those who have died, visited heaven and come back add some information but even their input is very limited. I believe we will not see all of heaven even through eternity. We will never be 'bored' and will always have something interesting to occupy ourselves.

Just this morning, in an extra sweet presence of God, I got the thought that heaven is not so much a "reward" for being Gods child as an opportunity to thank Him for ALL He has done for us.

    Revelation 21:

9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. 11 It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12 It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. 14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. 16 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia[c] in length, and as wide and high as it is long. 17 The angel measured the wall using human measurement, and it was 144 cubits[d] thick.[e] 18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. 19 The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.[f] 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.

It's sort of like a cubical Borg spaceship made out of semi-precious materials.

The words "heaven" and "really" do not belong in the same sentence. You should have realized that long ago, but for some reason you didn't.
