Which picture says "enlightenment" more?
Hey everyone! I'm doing this presentation on sacred sites, and I have these two pictures of the Bodhi Tree in Bodhgaya Temple. We're supposed to depict the religion through our pictures without the use of any words, so I'm having a hard time choosing which picture I want to show more, because I like certain aspects of both pictures. What do you guys think, which one says "enlightenment" more?

I would choose 2, but I am an atheist and therefore the clearly visible collection box would illustrate my cynicism with the whole notion of religious "enlightenment". You might therefore want to go with pic. 1 (unless you share my cynicism).

I personally vote for #2.
The first one, for some reason, makes me think more of a 'seeker' rather than someone already in a state of enlightenment.
Yeah I know the #2 guys are probably all seekers, too, but that's just my impression.

I'd say #1, because the other has the girls sitting on the side of the altar and they look like they're gossiping. The animal in the first could be getting enlightened, too.

The contention in heaven was—Jesus said there would be certain souls that would not be saved; and the devil said he would save them all, and laid his plans before the grand council, who gave their vote in favor of Jesus Christ. So the devil rose up in rebellion against God, and was cast down, with all who put up their heads for him. (Book of Moses—Pearl of Great Price, Ch. 4:1–4; Book of Abraham, Ch. 3:23–28.) [Moses 4:1–4; Abr. 3:23–28]
The Forgiveness of Sins
All sins shall be forgiven, except the sin against the Holy Ghost; for Jesus will save all except the sons of perdition. What must a man do to commit the unpardonable sin? He must receive the Holy Ghost, have the heavens opened unto him, and know God, and then sin against him. After a man has sinned against the Holy Ghost, there is no repentance for him. He has got to say that the sun does not shine while he sees it; he has got to deny Jesus Christ when the heavens have been opened unto him, and to deny the plan of salvation with his eyes open to the truth of it; and from that time he begins to be an enemy. This is the case with many apostates of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

My personal look on thing says out to me that picture one, the second has more of a tranquil feel to it.

i dont think either picture shows enlightenment.
what about this: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=fff19b48ee821aa4&sc...
to me enlightenment means doesnt mean lack of burden, it means knocking out the meaning of life, fighting for the truth, until one becomes the master. clearly these people are still looking for the truth

Neither one, For enlightenment is a gift that comes only from Jesus Christ that must be prayed for and is of great use to those who know what to do with it when they get it.-Jesus Christ
