  • What are the chances of my job hiring me if I missed the deadline for a drug test?

I just recently applied for a job and the manager assured me that I would be hired as soon as I finished my drug test. I took it 2 days later and I just found out that I was supposed to take it in a 24 hour time span. I don't know now if I'll still be hired simply because I was unaware that I was supposed to take the drug test within 24 hours...

Do you think I could still be hired? I've never taken any drugs in my life, but I'm anxious about the 24 hours thing!

  • In a letter sent out to outer space for exterrestrials to read one day, what would you tell them about us?

My question is: If you had to compose a letter that would eventually be sent out to outer space for other intelligent exterrestrials to read one day (imagine they can miraculously read English), what would it say?

Keep it mind that your letter will be the ONLY one sent out. What kinds of things would you include in your letter describing Planet Earth, and what would you tell them about humans? It can be descriptive, vague, complex, or humorous...anything that YOU think would be important to tell these aliens.

I look forward to reading the answers, have fun!

  • Which picture says "enlightenment" more?

Hey everyone! I'm doing this presentation on sacred sites, and I have these two pictures of the Bodhi Tree in Bodhgaya Temple. We're supposed to depict the religion through our pictures without the use of any words, so I'm having a hard time choosing which picture I want to show more, because I like certain aspects of both pictures. What do you guys think, which one says "enlightenment" more?

  • What are some of the most sacred sites in the world?

I'm doing a little presentation where I'm required to research on at least ten sacred sites (place or space people infuse with deep religious meaning) around the world.

If you have knowledge on any (attractive) sacred sites, please list them so I can look them up! I know everyone in my class will Google "sacred sites", so I wanted to use a more unique approach.

    Thanks in advanced! :D

  • I'm afraid of the future & don't know what I want to do?

My mom and I were just having a discussion and she asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I replied by saying I didn't know; and it's the truth. She gave me such a disapproving and disappointing look it broke my heart. I'm a Junior in High School, and some may say I have plenty of time, but I'm the kind of person that needs to know things a lot before hand. I have not the slightest clue what I want to pursue when my Senior year is over, and just thinking about going to college and being on my own is terrifying. I am a straight A student, taking 2 AP classes, and I have everything sorted out as of right now, but I don't know anything about the future. It used to be fun imagining all the things I would do on my own with my new independence, but now it just seems scary. My interests field is vast & whenever I take a career quiz, I never agree with whatever it gives me.

How did you guys cope with growing up and deciding what you wanted to be when you grew up? Was it hard? What should I do?

  • I can't even walk out to my car without getting sunburned...?

I really feel like a hermit, and it's embarrassing. I hate making up excuses to my friends whenever they suggest to go outside on a warm, hot sunny day. I am terrified of the sun because I know if I get an exposure to it, my face will turn tomato-red and sometimes I'll blister (which is really disgusting). Many moisturizers with built-in SPF's irritate my skin and make it even more red. Many of my light-skinned friends don't have this issue, & I always feel trapped indoors.

Usually when a teacher tells a classroom that they'll be going on a field trip, everyone gets excited...but not me. I get super anxious and worry if it'll be sunny or not, because even the slightest bit of exposure can burn my skin. I always feel miserable, and I want to be able to live my life without having to worry about the sun! :(

What can I do? Can you offer any advice?

  • How can I tell if this redness on my face is sunburn or just rosacea?

Lately I've been spotting signs of rosacea (flushing/blushing/redness) and just a couple of hours ago I was outdoors (it was extremely sunny) for no more than 10 minutes. Three hours after returning home, my cheeks started to turn very red. It feels hot, but i am not sure if this could be sunburn or rosacea...because I've heard rosacea can be triggered by even the slightest sun exposure. I also have very sun-sensitive skin, so it could be either one. Can someone please help me by identifying what I could have? My nose is not red like the rest of my cheeks, and my forehead was covered by my bangs..so it is only my cheeks.

    Thank you in advanced! :)

  • I'm olive-skinned, but whenever I enter into the sun for 5 minutes, I'll get severely sunburned?

My ethnicity is Vietnamese, and I've been told that people of more darker skin tones have a lower risk of getting sunburned than those of lighter color, but whenever it is sunny outside, I have to make sure to avoid it or cover my face up or else I will get sunburned. Only 5 minutes of sun exposure would burn my skin. My dermatologist advised me to use moisturizers with SPF's in them, but none of the samples she's given me have been successful. They all leave my skin irritated and red, even the ones who claim to be "non-comedogenic".

Spring and summer are soon approaching, and I am not sure what to do? I don't want to get burned anymore, but I love the outdoors! Do you have an suggestions/ideas?

    Thank you :)

  • Snooki is pregnant, and engaged to Jionni. If you could give them a wedding gift, what would you give them?

I don't watch the show or have any interest in their lives, but upon seeing a recent article about the engagement and pregnancy, I was just curious as to what my fellow Yahoo! Answerers would give them as a wedding gift!

    Be creative.

  • For all those tea experts, help me make tea!?

I want to start drinking tea. I really like the taste but I have no idea how to make it! I know it sounds extremely silly, but it's sadly true. I have some Lipton tea bags and I was wondering how to make one individual serving? I tried looking around the internet but to no success because most of them only show you how to make multiple serving ones (in pitchers)! How much water should I use, when should I add the sugar, what are some things you put in your tea?

Also, do you know any other tea flavors/brands that I should try out that is affordable, healthy, and delicious?

    Thanks in advanced!

  • For those of you who've had sunburn before....?

So I don't know why the sun hates me so much this summer, even though I wear tons of SPF 50 sunscreen 20 minutes before sun exposure, along with wearing a hat, but I managed to get sunburned...again.

It was so bad, I got blisters and started peeling. Well, it's been more than a week, and I just couldn't take it anymore, I started peeling off some of the skin. Most of the skin is okay, but a spot on my forehead is horrible. There was a scab looking-thing there where the blisters were, and I peeled it off, revealing very raw skin. I just wanted my skin back to normal!

Now I'm terrified because it looks SUPER SUPER raw, but it's not bleeding or anything, although it does feel tight, and I've noticed many new wrinkles on my forehead. I'm applying aloe very generously. It burns a bit when I put it on the spot, but only for a couple of minutes.

I'm terrified because school starts in less than 3 weeks, will this go away? Oh, and I'm 15.

Thank you very much in advanced for your advice and time. :)

  • How do I make sure I don't get sunburnt again?

I've recently just recovered from a horrible sunburn, and I hated it. I'm going to play tennis this afternoon and I'm going to make sure I wear a hat and sunscreen. The thing is, I'm super paranoid, so even if I see a bit of sun, I think I'm going to get burnt...even though I have light brown skin. I'm using SPF 50. How can I be sure that the sunscreen will protect me and not get burnt? I just really need reassurance at this point because I do NOT want to get sunburnt again. Thanks!
