FDR's Death Staged?
Between the end of March 1945 - to April 12. FDR was at a house in Warm Springs, GA. at the house was FDR, his daughter Anna, is mistress Lucy Mercer Rutherfurd, his infrequently name Black Manservant. The Press reports that FDR died in the afternoon April 12. Ms Rutherfurd was hurried away in the morning. There have been rumors ever since, that FDR actually died in bed with Mrs Rutherfurd and his daughter Anna who arranged that Lucy was there more often than not and the Black manservant staged the death by redressing FDR and moving him to "sitting room". Eleanor hated have anything to do with FDR physically since the late 1920 or early 30. FDR had J Edgar Hoover keep tabs on Eleanor. JEH hated Eleanor. There have been hints of these events for some time but I have never found a book/article that had proved it. Has anyone else found any evidence of this staging of the death so that sex was not mentioned?

First off, would you like to have it blasted far and wide that you died in the act with someone you weren't married to? Back in the 40s that was an even bigger scandal.
Of course they got his mistress out of the picture quickly and discreetly. The American public of that era didn't want to know about the marital troubles at the White House. Most Americans weren't even aware FDR used a wheel chair.
Even though the country did not know about FDR's affairs, the entire White House staff knew. Since Eleanor made it clear she wanted nothing to do with that part of her marriage, it was considered borderline acceptable for FDR to do it. Eleanor herself was not gay, but she had a close female companion.

Well, I would not know. I wasn't around then. My grandparents --- did not like FDR. However, the media then and even to this day still portrays him as the second coming of somebody. He was a bigot and he was as dishonest as one could get. Read While 6,000,000 Died. it is from the 1960's but it clearly displayed FDR's hatred of most of his Jewish backers, for which he did NOTHING. I can believe that the "death in the parlor" was staged, but I am not a historian. You can trust that no truth will be seen on PBS concerning any of this! Cannot help you.
