WESTERNS : What is your opinion about Malaysia?

It used to be a better place before the Muslims won by a narrow margin and scrapped the old Secular Democratic Constitution and Laws and replaced them with their Islamic ones.

A lot of Muslims have migrated from Malaysia ever since.

Heard tell that Malaysia is going to the dogs.

Anyways, a lot of people have taken out their investments from Indonesia and Malaysia ever since they went Islamic. Like everyone is taking out their investments from Egypt now and like they did with Iran before.

You see, you have to understand that Islam is not a kind of thing anyone wants ruling any place. Malysia will probably see a Revolution sometime like we are seeing in a lot of Islamic Countries where the people are goig towards Secular Democracy because they realize the fact that the Islamic Rule will only take them to economic disaster and when that happens, Islam is most likely to be banned there.

It is a beautiful country, and a good example for Islamic tolerance in a multireligious society, of Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs etc. etc.

But unfortunately the politicians and the police force are too corrupted especially after the 80's.

Which is the cause of its dwindling economy and an unsafe environment.

Ive got nothing against Muslims unless they hate America and are part of groups like Al Qaeda, Taliban and Hamas. Then I have problems with those Muslims.

I don't know much about Malaysia except my friend lived there and she said its pretty cool so I guess its okay over there.

I've only been once, and I didn't really see enough to form a judgment. Kelang and KL are probably too cosmopolitan to be representative.

A positive comment that I could make is that Japan and Malaysia cooperate to develop Malaysia's economy (and have for several decades). This can be nothing but good for the world.

I don't know of any negatives to speak of.

Malaysia is just a small blimp on the world radar.

I have no problem with Malaysia or Muslims, but due to land disputes lately Muslims have been bombing Buddhist schools in south Thailand. I am not okay with this

Malaysia is not a muslim country, but the majority practices islam. In which section of the constitution it states that islam is the religion of the federation. If yes, can you show me the actual constitution? Is it in the national archieve? National Library? Where is it???

I do not know much about it other than it is quite crowded, has a tropical climate and does a lot of manufacturing. It must be quite peaceful as it does not seem to make the news headlines often here.
