Can someone explain the ending for the anime guilty crown?

So i watched this one again but i still couldnt really get the ending. I kind of understood gai's explaination and the reason for his actions but after that i didnt really understand the reason behind shu's actions and how he exactly survived when that virus was turning him into a crystal. What was the reason behind absorbing so many voids?
Also could some one tell me who that daath guy was? I didnt really get his character and what kind of purpose he had in d whole anime.
And finally, completely unrelated, what was the name of the song playing when shu started absorbing all those voids into himself? Really liked it but i dont think its there in d ost.

Shu survived because inori gave her life for him when she was going to she she was blind and with cancer that are the meaning of the crystals when shu was absorbing all the voids was because I wanted to end that epistimy if crystals and voids would dissepared the epistimy would end and shu would be the new savior of the world but inori didn't want shu to die so she gave her life too erase all the voids and crystals to save the world hope you understand...
