Outside being a bit uncomfortable, they're necessary to either clear out the lower bowels for examination, childbirth, or surgery. Or, to relieve constipation in some cases. Any other reason, such as the much touted "colonics" are Unproven rubbish meant for those with bowel fixations, the gullies, and to make those who tout them wealthier! A normally functioning body gets rid of waste quite efficiently. "Bowel cleansing" to rid the body of "toxins, decaying matter, and the supposed pounds of meat, and fecal matter that we carry around", is Unproven, unscientific, made up hogwash! It takes approximately 48 hours for food to be completely processed by a normally functioning body. The bowel rids the body of ALL solid waste, there's absolutely NOTHING left, or stored in the bowel as this isn't a function of the bowel, and would be detrimental, besides that, the bowel goes straight through despite the twists, and turns, it's still pretty much a straight tube from mouth to anus! There aren't any storage places for decaying matter, meat, or fecal material! None! So, these colonics serve NO real purpose, where an actual enema does for medical, or constipation purposes does. Anyway, enough of my diatribe! If you're having an enema for a medical procedure, or whatever, don't worry, it's a little bit uncomfortable is all, it doesn't hurt a bit, and if you're modest, it might cause you some slight embarrassment, but you're never fully exposed, just a little bit of your bottom only. Good luck, and God bless!
