Facebook mobile activity question?
I'm using the Facebook mobile app on my iPhone 4. What I noticed from the chat sidebar was that some of my friends had green light next to their name (indicating that they were using desktop or browsers) and some had the mobile phone icon (indicating that they were on facebook mobile app or facebook messenger app). Now, I do have both apps, but whenever I use them, my friends told me that I don't have a mobile icon next to my name, but a green light, indicating that I'm on a browser, not a smartphone. However, when I do log off or close those apps, my friends say that I do get the mobile icon next to my name.
Is this a glitch? My phone is up to date and so are the apps, so I'm not quite why I wouldn't be getting the mobile icon when I'm on the apps.
Thanks!
What I meant was: when I click on my friend's name to chat, his icon would be mobile, and it would say "active now". And he told me that he was on mobile app.
However, when I do the same thing, my friend told me that I would have the green light instead of the mobile icon, and would say "active now". Which is confusing, because I'm on mobile, so why would I be getting a green light instead of the mobile icon?

More than likely you are not set as online via your computer browser.
I have noticed it means you use mobile for your facebook, it doesn't actually mean you are online at that time, if you have your number listed as well like many do, it will show the mobile image 'meaning' that the person uses a mobile to access facebook or the mobile is listed on their page (aka mobile texts) so if they contact you, (if you use sms, you're still classed as available) even if you are signed off.
The green light says online, and sometimes comes up on mobiles even when you're not on mobile...it does it to me. It also depends on the phones operating system.

No it's not a glitch. Whenever you have the Facebook app open and are browsing your wall or fhatever it'll show the greenlight but when you close that it'll put the mobile device icon on instead indicating that you have used Facebook on a mobile device.
