Should I do track and field or swimming?

I'm a 9th grader and I really want to do either track and field or swimming, but i can't decide. (I don't really have experience in either, I mean I know how to swim and I've ran the mile in P.e. but nothing really besides that) I heard that almost everyone who knows how to swim can get in swimming, but I don't really know all the different types of swimming, like butterfly and stuff.... and I kind of wanted to do long jump or sprinting or hurdles but i don't know if i would be able to handle practice... like what if I passed out or something if we had a really hard practice on the first day? I would really appreciate any suggestions for tryouts or advice, or anything!! Thanks:)

I do track and you have nothing to worry about. First, you got to see which one is your passion the most. If you like swimming the best, then do that sport. If you like track, then do that. Neither of the sports are hard if you put all of your effort into it. Remember, it does not matter how fast you are know, because that is what practices are for, to get better. So do not worry and just try your best and ask God to help you as you try out. That is what I do. God Bless! I hope I helped!

I agree with the other answer, but I'm a swimmer. I think swimming is a better all-around workout. Again it's all about where your passions lie, do whichever sport is going to make you happier and is going to allow you to have the most fun. With either sport, because you are new, your coaches will teach you how to do everything, so you don't have to worry about not knowing what to do. Just show up with a good attitude ready to tackle a challenge.
