Hi! So, I signed up to get emails from Explore Talent Castings a couple of months ago. Today they sent me an email saying that extras and supporting roles were needed for a new TV show. There is a phone number and it says to call that number for more information. Am I expected to pay money to the website or something so they will help me get this job? Hi! So, next summer I want to get a job. I'll be sixteen then. I have a summer job now but it's in the evening so next summer I want to see if I can get two jobs, the same one in the evening and another one during the day. Are people under 18 allowed to have two jobs? Sorry, I'm not really sure if there are rules for this. What would be a good job for me? I was thinking maybe Starbucks but I'm not sure. Hi, I'm just curious about how you become a model. I know it's really hard and you need to be really thin and tall, but is it like the acting business where it's pretty much you need to have connections in the business or what? Hi! So, I just saw Never Let Me go, and it is literally the saddest movie I have ever seen. I really don't know what to do now, all I can do is think about the movie because it was really good and the plot was interesting, but it just made me so sad! I would watch a funny movie or something now, but I don't have Netflix or anything and I really don't have that much time right now. Does anyone know what I should do??? Or can you cheer me up?? Hi, so I'm a freshman and I joined track this year at my school. I'm not very fast though, and I have my first meet this week!!! Most of the other people in my event (distance) were in cross country or another sport before this, but I wasn't so they are all faster than me. It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't too far behind, but my mile time is 8:30-9 minutes and they all run like 6 or 7 minute miles!!! If they run fast that day, I might be a whole lap behind!!!!! I know I can't magically get really fast in the next 3 days, but does anyone have any tips?? I'm really nervous!! Thanks in advance:)

I'm a 9th grader and I really want to do either track and field or swimming, but i can't decide. (I don't really have experience in either, I mean I know how to swim and I've ran the mile in P.e. but nothing really besides that) I heard that almost everyone who knows how to swim can get in swimming, but I don't really know all the different types of swimming, like butterfly and stuff.... and I kind of wanted to do long jump or sprinting or hurdles but i don't know if i would be able to handle practice... like what if I passed out or something if we had a really hard practice on the first day? I would really appreciate any suggestions for tryouts or advice, or anything!! Thanks:)

Hi, so I am a 9th grader and I really want to be in track and field but tryouts are in a week and i am REALLY nervous. I was supposed to be switched into pre-track but for some reason i never got a schedule change, so i am not prepared for tryouts. what event should i do? I know there is no easy event, but what would be easiest for a beginner? I have experience in dance where we had to jump a lot, so i thought maybe that would help with hurdles or long jump or something? i can sprint pretty fast but i don't think i would be able to sprint a whole lot like i heard they do at practice without passing out or something.. and i am absolutely horrible at distance running so i think that's out of the picture. can anyone give me advice or suggestions for tryouts? i would really appreciate it, thanks!!!

I want to go to one, but I don't know where to look. Is there a good website or something for this? (free websites please) Or a certain place to look in the newspaper? Hi, ok so before you think I am some kid who has no experience but wants to have a lead role in a movie, hear me out. Well it is true I don't have experience, but I just want to be in a movie as an extra or with a small role at least, not a lead or anything. I am 14 and am near Los Angeles, and also my parents have a friend who works for a movie company so should I ask them if their company needs any extras/help in movies? Also anyone have suggestions for websites with open casting calls, or experience in the movie industry who can give me some tips? And also would there be ads for auditions in the newspaper, and where would I find it? I've looked in the entertainment section, but I didn't see anything... Ok, so I'm 14 and I got a letter in the mail from National American Miss that said one of my friends had recommended or referred me or something. It sounds like a lot of fun, but I have some questions.

1. Is it easy to get sponsors? i have been searching stuff about it, and girls make it sound so easy. is that true, or is it hard to get all the money paid for? because i won't be allowed to go if we have to pay all of it.

2. does everyone who gets a letter and goes to the Open Call get to participate? or do they just pick some people? how many people are picked?

3. If I went, what would be some necessary things to bring?

4. If i went, would there be lots of people watching? I am afraid of being in front of lots of people. i might go anyway, just wondering.

5. if I was picked but I didn't get sponsors, could i choose not to go?

6. what happens at the open call/interview? do people just ask you questions, or do you have to show them anything, like papers of something?

7. is the contest judged on beauty? like I said, i've been looking up nam and I don't think it's a beauty pageant right?

8. How do you get to know if you got in? do they email or call you?

9. Anything specific i would need to know, if i got to go?
