Is this Darrelle Revis trade rumor the media's yearly made up rumor involving Darrelle Revis?

Just like the little stint they pulled last year, reporting how Darrelle Revis planned to holdout for the third time? Sad thing is, the media successfully brainwashed many uninformed idiots and thus, many people actually think Revis held out LAST year for an extended period of time

Extra Question: If you were the Patriots GM, what would you do with Wes Welker and his impending free agency? Taking into account Brady's vocal endorsement for Welker to stay.

Its not a rumor, they're going to move him according to Rob Powers on Channel 7 (WABC-TV). He is very marketable and they need players.

BQ: keep him, which they'll do because they want to win

Actually, it makes sense for the Jets to trade Revis. The team isn't going anywhere next year as it is, they can get some draft picks in return for him, and this years draft has some of the best CB talent in recent years. They could easily pick up a corner nearly as talented for a fraction of the price of Revis. And then use the extra picks to draft a running game. And an offensive line. And maybe some receivers that know how to run routes and hold onto the ball.

BQ: If they re-sign Talib, they have to dump Welker, they can't afford both. And Brady endorsed Deion Branch years ago as well, but the Patriots still dumped him. I don't think that Welker gets a contract, the Patriots have plenty of threats besides Welker, and slot receivers are fairly easy to develop.

$26 mil they have to shed just to get down to the cap. Then they still don't have money to sign any draft picks. A lot of people obviously don't seem to understand that that's a huge deal and shedding that kind of money is pretty much impossible to do without trading Revis. Don't get me wrong, it could be done but you'd be talking about Revis, Wilkerson, Po'uah and Harris as the only returning starters on defense and not having any money to pay a decent free agent to come in and fill any empty roster spots. Doesn't make any sense to do that when you can get a return for Revis and the team isn't really a playoff contender with him anyways. Keeping Revis does nothing but delay the inevitable mass cuts that have to be made because of some terrible contracts for one more year. Then when he signs somewhere else because he's an unrestricted free agent and they can't franchise him because it's in his contract, the Jets get nothing. Trading him makes the most sense. If they don't, they're doing nothing but digging themselves a deeper hole.

EQ: Do whatever it takes to sign Welker. He's like Brady's security blanket.

I don't think it is completely made up. The Jets worked themselves into a mess with bad contracts. Even though Revis would be worth whatever he gets, the Jets can't afford him if they want to get better in other areas of the team.

EQ: Sign him. He's good for 100 catches every year, and he forces defenses to gameplan around him.

This Revis trade thing is believable. Jets are in salary cap hell and Revis wants to be one of the highest paid players and has one year left on his current deal. Don't see how they can afford him. And as great as Revis is, their defense was pretty solid even without him this year. I would definitely look into it if I was in the Jets front office.

EQ: Re-sign him to a short term deal.

I heard on Channel 7 last night that since the Jets are unsure of his contract status after next season, that they may try to shop him to avoid a problem next year. I think they're going to trade him and Sanchez.

I think this is actually real. The media doesn't make everything up.

BQ: I would resign him. He and Brady must have great chemistry, and he's their best receiver.

The media loves over hyping "NY" teams. Even when they clearly suck, they still manage to dominate all the headlines with non-stories like these.
