I'm not happy with my life?
I'm not happy. I don't feel like anything makes me feel better. I'm not depressed or suicidal, I'm just not happy. My parents never let me do anything, so my friends stopped asking me to hang out cause they know I can never hang out or do anything. My parents also always yell at me, change their minds and break promises. They are very strict about grades, and I got three B's and the rest A's on my last report card, so they took away my texting and data privileges. I'm becoming socially awkward, I talk less at school and am not creative as I usually am. I typically draw or paint to make myself feel better .Not even shopping is fun anymore because my dad just yells at me for spending my money on stupid things. I dont know what to do anymore...
I've tried talking to them about it. I just get grounded and pushed aside. Its always my fault with them, I'm not being like self deprecating. Its how it is at my house, my parents are never wrong, its always me.

do this...Living life.... ya im only 14 and i have figured it all out well good enough for me. Remember how your life has been in the past. Never give up even on the hardest of problems, just step away take a few good deep breathes and try again. Remember how there is only 1440 minutes in a day. Remember how any time spent being mad or sad is wasted time that you will never gain back. Be thankful of your life. After you have mastered all this you should be a little wiser of life it self and how you live it. For the connection part just remember while walking around smile once in a while at someone who seems down or even joyful and happy. Compliment people and be so don't don't Close up or be shy. Be proud of who you are no matter what anyone says i know someone... more than one person in this world will cherish you for who you are and you need to remember that. life isn't that hard once you learn how to handle it, the problems it gives you, and how to walk around tall and proud even though life itself may not be in the best predicaments.

Talk to your parents about it, don't be scared the scary thing is being ignored and not being noticed by everyone, talk now before it gets worse. Tell them how you are feeling and that your grades are fine and that you are getting really quiet at school because of them and tell them why...
Or you can suck it up and stop being so socially awkward and have fun at school

If you've tried getting through to them maybe suggest family counseling. maybe go to your guidance counselor and talk to him/her about this dilemma. If your parents aren't willing to listen go to another adult who will help them understand you better. They won't yell at you needlessly in front of another adult. Perhaps write all your feelings in a diary to help relieve some stress. They do want the best for you but sometimes they don't go about it in the right manner.

I'd say happiness is more of a romantic novelty than a tangible idea. I think the root cause of your unhappiness, as it is in many other young people, is alienation; the separation of us from ourselves, from each other, and from life itself (although these are not truly distinct categories from each other). And please don't try to find self fulfillment in shopping. Consumption seeks to create needs, not to fulfill them; to generate new anxieties instead of allaying old ones.

Talk to them telling them what you wrote in this text. They only want the best for you and seeing the damage they are causing your life they should hopefully change their minds.

3 words: Go To Church
3 more words: It Will Help
Even if you're not christian being around happy people who love each other like family will lighten your mood. You don't have to get in the religion or anything but I'm telling you, it will help.
(Just my opinion)

Tell your parents to back off. Don't let them control you. When you grow up, you realize that they don't always know what's best.
