Mormons, If Romney buys out Folgers or Hills Brothers, will coffee be off the word of wisdom list?

I use to be Mormon and Coca-cola and Pepsi were on the do not take list of the word of wisdom. That makes sense because those sodas have caffeine and the word of wisdom is against caffeine.

But now the Mormons say that it is ok to drink Coca-Cola or Pepsi. A rich Mormon must own a large amount of stock in on of those soda companies.

How old are you? Cause im 33 and soda was never against the word of wisdom in my life.

And PS... Romney is actually pretty far down the totem pole of power in the mormon church. Hes been a bishop, and thats not that uncommon.

It's never a good idea to consume foods or drinks that are harmful to the body. There is no "ok" on caffeinated drinks, it's always been in the grey area. There are grey areas in all obedience, how close we get to the line is not a strength but a weakness.

Coffee is specificially designated in the D&C as scripture, so it won't ever change. Nothing in scripture designates caffeine, it has always been counsel to avoid harmful substances.. which of course is common sense right?

The Word of Wisdom says nothing about caffeine.

Rich Mormons do not determine church policy or doctrine.

No. Coffee is gross and bitter tasting, even with cream and sugar. We are still taught that caffiene is no good, but just like coffee and tea, we are allowed freedom of choice. However, there are consequences that happen if we partake. One major result is that you will not be allowed to enter into the temple.
