Washing Machine wont fill up but water is running?
We just bought a used machine. The water runs but then is draining out the drain. It gets about 1/4 full and then starts to drain. It does not go past that stage. Does anyone know why its not filling?

It sounds like it's siphoning. Is your drain high enough? Where the drain hose goes into the drain, it should be at least as high as the top of the washer cabinet. Or does the drain hose fit tightly into the drain? It should fit loosely so that there is an air gap.

I don't consider the washer has a filter. You might try jogging a small pipe snake (the plumber's use) in the water inlet to peer if it is going to free any particles inside washer. Hope this helps.
