choosing what my vision focuses on?

Say your sitting in front of your computer during a sunny day and you can see the relection of the window on your computer screen. It's barely noticeable but if you force yourself to focus on the window, the window becomes completely crisp and clear and the computer screen becomes out of focus. And you're able to switch back and forth easily. What is this called?
