my father is 79 yrs old, with end stages of COPD, anyone give me a window of time on his life span?
We are fighting bouts of pnemonia, in and out of hospital stays, and now he refuses any kind of pt or ot...he just wants to lay in his bed since I moved him in with us and have me as his caretaker running like crazy at his bekon call...he's definitely on the abusive side of being awful to me as a caretaker yet he knows I will do whatever he needs...this is causing alot of problems in my home beings he's not friendly to my pets , my husband, or me half the time. He's even had the odasity to send my food back to my kitchen through my son that lives with us and is in college...I've laid down rules, I've had talks with him, I've did as much as I can possible do for a daughter, yet it's not good enough. His home health care nurse agrees that he's in last stages of copd and from what I've read a major part of him being so unappreciate and uncooperative is his disease...any tips?

I hope there is some sort of Caretaker's Support group or program in your area. Check with your county health department. If you belong to a church or other religious group, you might be able to get some help and support from them. You have my most sincere sympathy, and I wish you nothing but the best. You are obviously a very good person.

Being mean is not part of any disease. I have a terminal disease and I'm not mean to my family or friends.
