gallery of guns/FFL question?

So i just ordered a field/security mossberg off of gallery of guns (i had requested that i be notified through email when they get em back in stock) so i got the email, filled out the required questions and payed the deposit.

The FFL i chose was the closest one to me that was cheapest, i called them to notify of my purchase but got their voicemail and i left a message. I went to their website and found out that they are closed till the 31st.

My question is, will the shotgun i ordered from gallery of guns still be available to be shipped to the FFL i chose in a few days even though its now out of stock on gallery of guns' website?

Also, ive never done an FFL transaction before and is the reason im asking.

Thank you

Update:

EDIT: just to clarify paragraphs 1, and 2: gallery of guns notified me of 99+ shotguns of the model i ordered were in today then i checked back in an hour and they were sold out, so im just wondering if that affects my order or not.. (which was completed before they ran out.)

Update 2:

@glacier... look, you make valid points (save for your comment about how people like me should not buy guns online, if you want to encourage people to join onboard with supporting the wonderful right of owning a gun, next time be a little less of a D&$@) however there are multiple other factors at play here such as the fact that madison wisconsin is liberal enough to practly have no places sell most of the guns i look into purchasing (and i have to drive 35-60+ minutes out of my way to find great deals or even a gun store in general with a good selection thatdoesnt overprice). Secondly, with the mainia going on about gun grabbers and alike its been slim pickens in stores AND online, resulting in the first time ive found this gun in stock ANYWHERE ive gone.

I hate to sound like a whinner but believe it or not, most people's situation is MUCH more complex than what it seems on the surface.

My experience with GOG is that you actually do not have to notify the FFL yourself. The whole arrangement is meant to bypass all the stuff you have to go through to buy online from dealer A and have it shipped to dealer B to transfer to you. GOG does not have to wait for your dealer to fax his FFL, etc. Your dealer will get notified by GOG that the guns on its way and who bought it The dealer will then get in contact with you, possibly before it is shipped and after it is received. (@Chops is wrong on this. If they did not have your dealers FFL, then they would not be listed.)

GOG is not a dealer, they are actually a distributor that supplies guns to dealers. In fact much of the reason that the 99+ were gone was probably dealers restocking their shelves. You are effectively buying the gun from the dealer you selected, not GOG which is also why the dealers' prices vary, you have to pay sales tax, and you pay the balance to the dealer you selected directly.

I think you have already set the cogs in motion. If your credit card has been charged the gun is reserved for you and going to be on its way. The 31st is 3 days away and GOG says they are about 3 days behind, so you should have it by the end of this week.

@Glacier is wrong on this one. You ARE buying from the local dealer. You are just saving him the trouble of having to order it it himself as you are doing the ordering. It is a win-win. You should get good local service from the dealer

With all due respect - Why are you even here?

You paid the deposit to the Gallery of Guns - you want to know if Gallery of Guns will still honor your depost, and, if Gallery of Gun will still ship................. why dont you call Gallery of Guns and ask?

If you cannot figure out to call Gallery of Guns on your own - I seriously question your ability to be mentally competent own a firearm.

Folks like you should not be buyging guns online. Seriously. I am not being a smart @ss. It's why we have FFL dealers. If you had asked this FFL dealer a few week ago to get this gun for you - it would already be in the mail. 'He' would have received the email, 'He' would have sent the deposi - or - used his line of credit, and 'He' would have taken car of the shipping, handling, paperwork ........ all you would have gotten was a phone call to come on down and pick up your new rifle.

If just leaving a depost gets you all riled up about the transfer you have to come here and ask what to do - what are you gonna do when the gun gets lost, stolen, damaged, ruined, in shipping and nobody has insurance that covers it? Saving $10 or $20 on a gun to buy it online is not worth all the potential headaches you can have if things go wrong - and when you add $$, online sales, and shipping - things will go wrong.

Inserting yourself between the seller and FFL dealer - is a great way to be stuck with responsiblility when things go bad. You should have contacted the FFL dealer before hitting the 'Go' key on this transaction. I hope it works out for you, but, try letting the dealer handle this next time. It will be a huge help to your blood pressure!!

If you have already paid for the gun, or the required deposit, the place where you bought the gun is obligated to hold the gun for a reasonable time (about 5 working days) until they receive a copy of your local agent FFL's licence. Once that is received, and full payment is made, then your gun is shipped to your receiving FFL for transfer to you.

If you ordered while they were in stock you're Good to Go.

Orders typically take a couple of days to process anyways (and with the panic buying lately it's probably closer to weeks), so your order is fine.

Now, the fun part: You have to get in touch with your FFL and give them a fax number, email or snail-mail address for Gallery of Guns.. your FFL has to send a copy of their license to Gallery of Guns. Online retailers usually give you quite a bit of leeway because they know it can take time for your FFL to send their license information.. so don't worry about them cancelling your order.

Short answer: You're fine. Just let Gallery of Guns know what's going on if they send you a message requesting FFL, and then get ahold of your FFL on the 31st.

They may have sold them all already or just haven't updated their website.
