How hard is it to learn American Sign Language?

I've never taken sign language but I have to take a foreign language in college, how hard is it to pick up with no previous experience.

I don't think I that sign language is a foreign language.

But anyways most of the signs are pretty basic and are common sense while others make no sense and don't seem to fit with what the word I actually is. It is easier than actually learning a foriegn language but it takes the same level of dedication.

I use sign language my self! I've been using since I was 7. In a motorboat accident. But it was the hardest thing ever at first when I started learning. But over all the time that has past, I picked up pretty quick! I'm sure that if you really devote your time to studying and learning it, you'd start picking up real soon.

No... It can be not hard if you rather apply yourself to be taught the language. In these days used to be my last day for the 12 months at me college we simply had our ultimate and that i finished with an A.. So sure it's handy.

    Not difficult at all!

I took two years of it in high school. With some memorization it didn't take long before I was able to comfortably help deaf people at work and have decent conversations with them!
