Is repo rate the same thing as discount rate?
Is the repo rate that the Indian central bank sets the same as the discount rate in the US? Does the name of the rate vary depending on what central bank you're talking about (e.g., discount rate in the US, repo rate in India)?

discount rate is the rate of interest which a central bank charges on the loans and advances to a commercial bank whereas the Repo rate is the rate at which the central bank lends short-term money to the banks against securities.so no they are not the same
