Claiming a dependant on taxes?
Hey,
My son was 4 almost 5mos old at the end of 2012. From what I've read on the web it says a child must live with you for 6mos and 1 day to be eligible. Can he still be claimed even though he wasn't 6mos old? What tax form do I have to fill out if I can claim him? Thanks for your time.

If he was born in 2012 then the 6 month requirement does not apply. You can just list him on the form 1040 as a dependent. You will need his SS# as well.
Good luck.
