Do you support term limits?
What is being proposed is a limit of 3 terms in the House, and 2 terms in the Senate. If you are in favor, do you think someone should be able to run for Senate after serving 3 terms in the House?

The Michigan legislature has your 3-2 idea now. It hasn't been a panacea.
I wouldn't mind a 10 term House limit and a 3 term Senate limit, though. An age limit (e.g. you can't run again after reaching 80) would probably be even better and put an end to the Strom Thurmond and Robert Byrd types staying in forever.
Yes to your second question.

The presidential term limits should stay as is with no changes ever. Congressional term limits should be created though so these morons don't make a career out of politics. If you look at the history of Congress, the pay and such was created to purposely make the politician want to go back to their private lives as soon as their term is up. If we keep term limits down to about 8 years or so for the House and Senate, then we wouldn't get these idiots who are completely and totally beholden to the people who pay them the most money year after year.

yes, i STRONGLY support term limits. but i favor more strict ones. the president gets 8 years. so i favor 8 years in public service. no crossing from senate to house to white house. 8 years and you're back in the public life with the rest of us, with the same health care, pension, social security etc. no more "elite" leaders. watch how fast the decisions about the country will actually change.

That would most likely require an amendment to the US constitution which would need the votes of 2/3 of both houses of congress and 3/4 of the states. I don't see that as being very likely. If it were to pass I think it's doubtful that it would be retroactive, meaning that sitting members of congress would not have their current or previous terms count towards the new limits.

time period limits the widespread public could be really swayed and lied to so the gadget can become corrupt. it extremely is why George Washington set the bounds to workplace. Limits secures the folk from ever getting a monarchy or ruler. It protects us. also you realize the way demanding it truly is for the duration of elections, imagen that according to annum or so. Presidents usually get a fantastically a lot not something finished the year they're up for reelection because they're campaigning too a lot. Now imagen that according to annum. also the time period limits helps new faces and new options to come back in.

No, I support eliminating term limits, like the 22nd Amendment.
Laws and constitutional amendments ought not do for the voters what they can and should do for themselves. The voters already know how to vote out of Congress someone who has been there for a long time. I have seen numerous members of the House and the Senate lose re-election after they had already been in the particular office for 20 or 30 years. Here in Missouri, I lived in a district where we through out our incumbent who was in the US House for 20 years.

It's scary that people like "Gee Wally" don't support them for Obama but do for everyone else.
