Why do people seem to forget that Iran was once a good Government but America deposed them and replaced with..?

the Iranian Royal Family?

All because of the fact they were trying to nationalize the oil. Why do people seem to forget this?

Update:

The 1953 Iranian coup d'état (known in Iran as the 28 Mordad coup[3]) was the overthrow of the democratically elected government of Iran, and its head of government Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh on 19 August 1953, orchestrated by the intelligence agencies of the United Kingdom (under the name 'Operation Boot') and the United States (under the name TPAJAX Project).[4][5] The coup saw the transition of Mohammad-Rezā Shāh Pahlavi from a constitutional monarch to an authoritarian one who relied heavily on United States support to hold on to power until his own overthrow in February 1979.[6]

It wasn't about oil from the standpoint of America, but mostly about the cold war and containing communism. It was actually President Eisenhower who signed off on the plan. Britain and the USSR had been meddling in Iranian affairs since the early 1940's during WWII. They feared Iran's shah at that time was colluding with the Germans, forced his removal and replaced him with his son Mohamed Reza Shah Pahlavi. Prime Minister Mosaddeq was suspected of being a communist sympathizer by the CIA. He wanted to nationalize the oil industry in Iran which was also supported by the communist party in Iran. It was the British who were PO'd about the oil not the US because Britain thought they owned the rights to Iranian oil fields.

...well, did you forget the more recent overthrow, which landed us with the current Islamist government?

Learning lessons from history is important and all, but in terms of understanding the world today, the later overthrow is a bit more significant.

No, it's not that they forgot, it's just that it's very *inconvenient*. It is far easier to focus on something else to redirect criticism about things we'd rather not talk about.
