Two wiiu's for two kids.. worth it ?

My ex-husband went and bought two WiiU's for my kids for Christmas, with the mind set that they were like a DSI type of system. I have one TV, and already have a Wii. My kids aren't really into the WiiU's and they aren't opened yet. Is it really that worth it to set up the WiiU ? Do I need two of them for two kids? Is it really worth it??

The Wii U might be worth it to set up depending on your situation.

The Wii U will allow you to watch Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Prime (If you have a subscription to one of those.) It will just connect to your account and you can watch them from the television, which is pretty cool. However, the Wii already had that feature with Netflix and Hulu Plus, so if you already had it connected with that, then that feature isn't worth it.

It also has another software which they call 'TVii'. What it does is connect to your cable/dish network and can act like a TV Guide. If you have a Netflix/Hulu/Amazon subscription, then it would also work with that.

I'll try to give an example of how it works: Lets say you want to watch the movie The Little Mermaid. You search that into TVii and it will tell you when it's coming on next on television (for example, on the Disney channel @ 8:00), or if it's available on Netflix or Hulu Plus or Amazon. So that can be handy, BUT you will need the cable service already established, as well as the subscriptions to the Netflix/Hulu/Amazon (Because the Wii U doesn't act as a free TV. It just connects everything together.)

If that sounds like something you are interested in, then it might be worth your while to set it up.

The Wii U can play Wii titles and all the Mii's and save data can be transferred as well. If your kids wanted to play Wii games on their brand new Wii U, they could totally do that.

As for having two of them, there is really no point. The Wii U Gamepad has a screen, but it is meant to work with the television. So if you only have one television, the other one would really just sit in a closet.

The Wii U's are kind of spendy. $300 for the white version, $350 for the black. Perhaps if you want to get rid of one of them, you can sell it to someone you know. Or ask if you ex-husband if he kept the receipt and can still return one.

I hope you get all of that settled. =)

I personally am happy with the Wii U. Depending on the age of your children, I think they would enjoy NintendoLand and New Super Mario Bros. U.

    Hope this helps!

Do you need two? Hell no! You do NOT need two consoles, unless you and your ex want one at each house. As for the Wii, you can return one of the U's and sell the Wii and get the money for those, and the Wii U will still play all your Wii games. That way, your kids can keep the new system, you get some money for one of them, and the old one and you don't have to buy all new games.

Id ask them what they want , personaly i would sell them and buy them a xbox or ps3 , as they have a better collection of games , online , etc..... The wiiu is pretty much the same thing as the except the new controller , my little brother has it and he plays my ps3 more than the wiiu . Good luck

I'd recommend asking for their opinions. They might be more interested in Xbox or PS3's. It totally depends on them. And I'd say a Wii is pretty good already. Maybe get them two 3DS's or two DSI's. I got two 3DS's for my cousins and they're practically addicted to it now. Get somethign that'll be good on the long run.

in the adventure that your toddlers are close jointly in age, that's going to likely be puzzling interior the initiating. Mine are 22 months aside and my oldest became completely lost while her little one sister got here alongside. My massive female continually demanded lots of interest and it rather plenty stopped while her sister became born. She did not even comprehend why she could not take a seat on my lap and snuggle to envision books while i became breastfeeding the little one.....there basically became no room for her and he or she became completely crushed while she had to take a seat down beside me somewhat of snuggling up with me in my lap.... I cried plenty and theory "why did I try this to her?".........yet through the time the little one became a million and strolling, my massive female became 3 and that they have got been luckily enjoying jointly and all became properly returned. they at the instant are 5 and 3 and the better of acquaintances, and my existence is plenty simpler by way of fact i don't could desire to entertain a baby all day long - they bypass off and play jointly for hours at a time. yet I won't deceive you...........that first twelve months became very, very complicated on all individuals. i think of plenty could count on what type of character the older baby has. If s/he already performs properly through herself for long classes of time, it could be simpler for you. My massive female became in no way the type to occupy herself for any length of time. She nonetheless would not.
