Thought it was awesome.
Some of you need to relax. It's not that atheists have a monopoly on logic or knowledge. It's talking about simple god belief. When it comes to that, logic, reason, and knowledge, when applied correctly, come to the conclusion that there is no good reason to believe that any god(s) exist. It's not commercializing atheism as a view as much as it's pushing the idea of, "don't believe in a god? losing faith? here, it's OK, we're here".
For years there have been Christian commercials of some flavor on American TV (there was one this year too, the "god made a farmer" commercial). I am convinced at this point, that people aren't simply against "agenda pushing" as they are against atheists/agnostics/non-believers not being silent and off to the side.
It's not about the fact of being part of a "movement". It's about letting people too terrified by the possible consequences to come out know that they are not alone. Of course, when you're on the theistic side of that equation rather than the terrified atheist side who feels alone, I wouldn't expect you to understand. It's about acceptance, it's about normalizing "atheist" and clearing up misconceptions so people don't lose family members simply because they don't believe in a god anymore.

Yea, but it more is in line with agnostic atheism than just atheism. Atheism is simply not believing in God. Agnosticism is not acknowledging anything as true without the proof of empirical data. The commercial put a great emphasis on logic, and not all atheists are necessarily logical people.
Source(s): Just figured out it was actually a scientologist commercial, but for whatever reason they put their name at the end of an atheism commercial, lol. - Mr. NoFaceLv 58 years ago
That's a Scientology ad that was edited at the end and posted on youtube as "the atheist super bowl commercial".

This represents me at a very personal level. I hate it. I'm not fond of agenda pushing and recruitment through commercialism. I certainly do not like people pushing their beliefs on me and I do not want to be aligned with some kind of "movement".

But at the end, it says, "we go one God further". I have never thought of atheism that way since it is NOT believing in God(s). But yea, that what it's about. Nothing to do w/being immoral, rude, mean, valueless, arrogant, uneducated, vampires cheaters, etc, which is how many here describe atheism.
