why would an agency ask you to bring your job book to an interview?

my son is on jsa and has finally got an interview and they want him to bring his job book. it is an agency. how do they know he is on jsa and why does he need it?

Update:

no, the interview is for a job through an agency, not with the dole.

Most probably because they want to see what sort of jobs he has applied for before so they can match him up. if he has told them he is unemployed they will assume he is on JSA.

They told him to keep notes on his job search notes.
