Christians why do you insist you are a saved sinner?
I did say the "four cow wife" was just an illustration and a crude one at that.
Yes it is true that while we were yet sinners, Christ loved us and gave Himself for us, but at the moment we trust Christ for salvation He does something for us - He puts us to death, we are crucified with Him, He does not leave us sinners IN HIS SIGHT, He makes us a new creation in Him, and we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit.
As I said earlier, we are never called saved sinners in Scripture, now that is different from saying we never sin, He has made provision for us when we do sin - Confession.
God sees us as perfect in Christ.
I used the illustration to show how a person can see their worth to another and as a result of that deport themselves accordingly. Do you not see your worth as a saint to God, if you did you would also deport yourself accordingly.
The epistle to the Ephesians states;
To the "saints" at Ephesus.
To the "faithful in Christ Jesus"
We have been blessed with ALL "spiritual blessings"
He has "predestined us to adoption as sons"
He has made us "accepted in the beloved"
"The eyes of our understanding have been enlightened"
We have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise"
"We may know what is the hope of His calling"
"We may know the riches of the glory of His inheritance"
We have been "made alive in Him"
We have been "raised up with Christ"
We have been made to "sit in heavenly places"
In the time to come He will show the "exceeding riches of His grace" through Christ Jesus.
We are "His workmanship"
We are "created to good works"
We are made "nigh unto God" by the blood of Christ,
We have "peace with God"
We are "reconciled to God"
We have "access to God" by the Spirit, through Christ.
We are "fellow citizens"
We are being "built up as a habitation of God"
These are just a few of the things we have been brought into in Christ, yet instead of thinking on these things, of all that our Bridegroom has given to us, some prefer to call themselves a "saved sinner" something God NEVER calls us, do you not KNOW the position you have been elevated to, IN CHRIST?
Think on what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for you, not on what you were when you were WITHOUT CHRIST.
You are of infinite worth in Christ, He didn't just pay the bridal price for us, He has lifted us up to a point that if He did any more it would breach the Godhead.
NOW WALK WORTHY.
Gregory. I believe the key phrase is "such were some of you" The Scripture does not call anyone a "saved sinner" do a word search if you do not believe me. AFTER we come to Christ we are never addressed as a "saved sinner"
shahidam... Thank you. The epistles go on at length to say what we have in Christ, it seems so few understand our position in Him and instead describe themselves in a way which His Word does not.
I Try, so despite all that God says about how He sees you in Christ, you would prefer to call yourself something God never does? Sure seems like slapping God in the face to me.

Carl, thanks. Truly the Lord has done all that to us due to His great love. Sadly to say many of us like to say that they are (Saved in their sins) instead of (Saved from their sins)

...I'm not really a piece of this question, I thought this was an atheist making a claim I could support and/or refute, but this is strictly for christians, thus, I shall comment on that "Believe it!" person:
1. Obama is probably the best president we've had since Clinton and FDR.
2. This is the religious section, not politics.
3. Spamming your meaningless message all over every question in the religious section does nothing to help your cause. At all. In fact, it makes you look like an idiot for either using god as an excuse to be against him or posting this message in a section where it's not welcome/needed/cared about.
And actually, reading what you quoted makes Obama look more like a good person. No one can even understand what your point is in the first place, unless you're accusing the government as a whole...

We are so fallible, and vulnerable, and weak, but Christ makes us strong when we trust him completely the way we should. That's why he told us to abide in the vine. See John 15:1-7. Also, yes, I agree, we have all we need in Jesus as you have said here. He is all we need. He is our sufficiency (II Cor. 12:9-10). Ephesians 1:4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love.
In am not going to call my self blameless even if I am seen that way in Christ's eyes, so "Saved Sinner" suits me well.
All that said, I still call myself, "A Christian"I believe that that covers everything you have mentioned above.
A rose by any other name.........

[Romans 10:9-10] God's word {the Holy Bible} tells us in John 3:16-17 " God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that who so ever believes in him shall not parish but have ever lasting life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world but to save it through him." This is why Christians ' know ' they are saved, because Jesus promised.
