    (Hebrews 12:1, 2)

and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

2 as we look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus.

Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for,

the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld.

(Hebrews 10:38, 39) .But my righteous one will live by reason of faith,”

and, “if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”

39 Now we are not the sort that shrink back to destruction, but the sort that have faith to the preserving alive of the soul.

I recently read an article in "Scientific American" magazine which purported that atheists tend to rely on analytical thinking, while theists prefer intuitive thinking. That explanation seems perfectly reasonable to me since belief requires arriving at a conclusion while ignoring the lack of supporting evidence.

Long ago religions justified their existence with philosophical logic. However, since the Enlightenment and the dawning of the Age of Science, unsubstantiated opinions supported by social authority have fallen into disrepute. Churches have been reduced to peddling intuitive beliefs legitimized by an their obsolete Aristotelian worldview -- that people's subjective mental experiences are reality itself.

Faith is allowing yourself to pretend that unsubstantiated beliefs are a legitimate way to understand the reality all human beings must share. For those who rely on social authority rather than physical evidence to legitimize their opinions, holy books work particularly well, since the author(s) are conveniently unavailable.

There are three levels of conviction: knowledge, belief and faith.

Knowledge is accepting a concept based on examining evidence and accepting where the evidence leads.

Belief is accepting a concept when there is a little evidence, but knowledge is not certain.

Faith is accepting a concept without or even against the evidence. See Hebrews 11:1. "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."

Faith is hope and belief even though the evidence is not presented.

FAITH, n. Belief without evidence in what is told by one who speaks without knowledge, of things without parallel. (Source: The Devil’s Dictionary, I think).

The NT is founded on faith, faith in things that cannot be proven and in fact are counter intuitive.

Judaism is based on evidence, facts, and proof.

In a religious context, it generally refers to the excuse people give for believing in something when they don't have a good reason to believe in something, or perhaps an extreme form of credulousness. And since, worded this straightfowardly, it sounds a little ridiculous, they train followers to believe that faith is somehow virtuous.

In a casual sense, it can refer to reasonable confidence. eg: I have faith that you will pay me back the money I lent you because you have a good track record of being reliable in this way.

faith basically can no longer carry approximately actuality for faith is in keeping with no longer something yet theory. Such theory is made the two with none data in any respect to assist that theory or is in keeping with unprovable prepositions and suppositions that may't be measured and/or suggested. So there is not any longer any thank you to verify the actuality or non certainty of the two a or b. hence to verify this sort of certainty, a fabric, actual manifestation might could ensue that must be measured, suggested or the two with the intention to envision with one hundred% reliability that the two a or b replaced into actually genuine or no longer. human beings have technological understanding perplexed and characteristic a tendency to think of that it fairly is atheist while in actuality it fairly is NON theist. A theory it rather is in keeping with faith is exterior of the technique of technological understanding to degree or word and hence falls exterior of the purview of technological understanding to make any assertion for or against the existence of a Deity. Faith can be many things and depending on your religion/belief, you will have to look at in a different perspective. Such as in religion, they tell you to have faith in 'God' they usually use it as having a strong trust in him/her with your life/soul/spirit/etc. So generally, it is a strong trust and belief in someone or something.

    Hope it helped.

Faith is by definition, believing in something without evidence and - Personally, I don't do that because I'm not an idiot.

  • Trust & faith in god in Religion in themselves are some examples.

Believing in something they cannot see, but knowing it is there the whole time. You cannot see the wind, but you know it is there. You have faith when you sit on a chair that it will hold you.
