Vanity top doesn't align with cabinet, what should I do?
Purchased just a new vanity top. The old top is exactly the same dimensions, but the new top doesn't have as much "lip" that sets on the edges of the cabinet. Looking for what to do here. My thoughts are:
1) Leave as is and secure down. It seems stable and has good connections on 2 sides, and the corner of the other 2 sides
2) Move out of the way and put down a thin border of plywood/OSB for the entire sink to sit on.
3) Foam/filler to connect overhang to cabinet
Ideas? Recommendations?
The new vanity edges are all super thin, whereas the old vanity edges were very wide. So where it sets on the cabinet doesn't line up on the front and one side. The back and other side are perfect, but if I pushed them out, they wouldn't line up either.
I did come up with a
4) Use small piece of trim to fill gap/provide something for edging to sit on

sounds like the countertop needs a little more build up to rest completely on the cabinet, so go with your second idea
