Therapy is a great thing for a stroke victim, please ask your doctor to get her into a rehab program. My stepfather, rest his soul passed away after having 3 major strokes which he had extensive therapy for and did well. He had a total of 19 strokes in a 5 yr period and even at the end, with the help of rehab he was still able to know us and to be able to communicate with us whether by telling us when he had his speech or verbal and physical signing to us.

Good luck with your mom, get her doctor to set her up on a rehab program, you won't be sorry you did.
