Car exhaust pipe extension in snow?

Up here, we get enough snow that people should know better but need to be reminded. The very first thing to do if you're going to sit in a running vehicle is to clear the exhaust pipe. Police issued a safety alert. An extension isn't really needed. If you're stuck away from home and it's still snowing, you have to get out to check it from time to time. Boston had three incidents with two deaths and two additional poisonings, all from snow blocked exhaust pipes. It's more useful to keep a shovel in your car.

Yes that would work if people stranded got out in the cold and attached it, but most people won't carry it in their vehicle as the probability is about one in a million per lifetime of it saving your life. Neil
