What would you do if given the choice?

One small change and the rest of your (known) future life would be gone and you would be on a different path in life. It might end up better and it might not.

I wonder sometimes what my path would have been if I had chosen the other job just after college (I had two offers in two different industries), but there are no do overs and my life is happy enough.

I would choose to go back to the 50's.

I loved my high school years - the music was still part of the big band era - I graduated in 53 - was single for 4 years and had a ball.

Dated my husband in 57 and had a glorious almost 8 months of courtship. Married and by the end of the 50's had two sweet daughters - 14 months apart.

The decade of the 50's were the best.

I worry too much for my posterity - to ever go into the future. The future looks scary to me.

I wouldn't mind spending time with my mom - the year that I was 8 years old. I would have had so many questions for her - had I know - that she going to catch pneumonia and pass away.

I'm getting tired in my old age and wouldn't - really want to live life over again.

I'll settle for the memories - the good and the bad - the good did out weight the bad.

There are some decisions I wish I had never made, some purchases I could have done without etc. but it's best to not think about how we could change things. If I'd married someone different I'd have ended up with different children from the ones I have (or maybe would not have been able to have any). I would not wish to change my family but do wish I hadn't punished certain things which were not as bad as I imagined them to be at the time and one or two other incidental things like that.

All in all I think I did the right things most of the time and my kids grew into good adults. My parents made mistakes with us and my kids will make mistakes with theirs. That' life.

As for the future, that is approaching rather quickly anyway and I would not wish to jump a few decades into something completely alien and unknown.

I would go back to my birth. Just as I was ready to be born, I threw my head back and it became bizarrely lodged on my mother's pelvis, so delivery would have meant a broken neck. 4 hours later I decided to shift so my mother could/did easily deliver me. Although I've always felt so sorry for those 4 extra agonizing hours that I put my lovely mother through, THIS time I would have held out for as long as required for a stillbirth. My second thoughts as an infant about entering this world were very possibly wise.

Also, my absolutely certain due date was delayed by 33 days - a 10 month fetus.

So, I suspect that many of us were coerced into being born. Seriously, does anyone remember making a choice?

Life hasn't been horrible at all, but apparently there was a better existence - somewhere, somehow.

There's only one thing I would have dearly loved to change. I would have gone back and made sure I got a decent education. Leaving school aged fifteen was REALLY a bad idea, no matter how poor the family was and needed help to put food on the table. It meant that I had to play 'catch-up' for the rest of my life, which is why, I guess I got back to study in my 20's and never stopped. I got a huge number of qualifications later one in life, but looking back, it really was some kind of manic pursuit for educational excellence, rather than a real need. I finally realised that I didn't need to be 'expert' in every damn subject under the sun..! Took me a long, long time to realise that.

Just a warning. I asked a similar question once and it got a violation for chatting. I see this as a specific question and I hope Yahoo does, too.

I'd love a "Do-Over". I'd go back to the second half of 3rd grade when we moved a hundred miles from where I'd lived my whole life. I was very shy and afraid to participate in class. it went down hill from there. I would love to be able to do school over.

I like the way my life is now. If it hadn't been for all the past circumstances, I would not be where I am now.

I would not take back the child abuse I suffered, the homelessness, the adoptions, NOTHING!

Also, another thing that these situations brought to the table is 'empathy'. I use to be a judgemental person, but going through what I've been through, I now can see where others are coming from.

Fun thought. It would be fun to go back and be my mothers friend in childhood. Just to be a part of her experience and if any impact could be made it's a fun thought. You're right, the future would be scary. Think I'll just hope for the best.

I would like to go back to a point in time when my whole family was still here, say back to the mid and late 60's.

I would go back to the time of Christ...I would tape-record the sermon on the mount, film the “miracles” and video the crucifixion. I would then camp out next to his tomb for three days to see what happens.

The truth would stop so many terrible crimes, wars and persecution over the next 2000 years.
