So you prefer to take a short term 4-8 year view of America's future, rather than a long term view. Our nation will continuously need more power, and without the investments in renewable energy now, by the time we do need it, it will be too late.

You need to reread Orwell's "1984". You still cling to the old concepts of truth. You think something is either true or not true. Gotta get with the program. That thinking is obsolete these days.
Der Leader says we need to invest in green energy. Your stubbornly clinging to facts is dangerous and a barrier to Progress. You lack perspective. (where's that sarcasm font we've all been waiting for?)
Besides, you forget the importance of money laundering. All these failed green companies which got lots of government money made sure to make large campaign contributions before they went under.

you can either get on board... or be left behind...
China has already taken a lead role... how far behind do you want to be?
many booms are greatly funded in their early years by gov. funding... like the internet... then it created a tech boom and trillions in revenue and millions of jobs...

No. He did not say that. If we take the subsidies we are giving to the oil companies who obviously don't need it and give it to green companies like natural gas, wind etc. it would zero out the expenditure.
