Is it bad when your boyfriend doesn't get you anything for Vday?

We've been dating for seven months now. It's hard to tell if he still loves me

ok, so while i completely agree with the people below that say that this is an arbitrary holiday that mostly benefits corporations...

would you want to date ethan? listen to him. he's the kind of person who would put some lofty principle above you, make it a higher priority than being thoughtful and making you happy in a small way. the REAL motivation for the sudden almighty principles? most likely to save a few dollars.

should you take action just based on that? no. love is not a competition for who pays the most. never, ever should it be like that. but it should always be a competition to make each other the happiest. he should take every opportunity to do something small to make you happy.

if he knows that the rest of the country is celebrating love, and he can't surprise you with a small rose or a "happy valentine's day" with a sweet kiss (which should be enough for you if you love him), then i'm going to guess that he's too comfortable in your relationship and you give him too much. he may or may not love you, i can't possibly tell, but just take a step back and make sure you're not guaranteed to be his with no effort from him.

make sure you're giving as much as he's giving in your relationship. it can be in different ways, for example one person might give by being there for moral support no matter what and the other person tries their best to do that, but ends up being the best to bring fun into the relationship. so analyze it that way, giving him and his best efforts the benefit of the doubt, and figure out how you're going to let him know that you're not stuck with him and that it takes two to make this work.

always be kind, no matter what.

also, one silly/fun thing you might do is tell him that you're disappointed and have him take you out somewhere fancy on flag day, the other arbitrary holiday, to make up for it.

Source(s): ps - ethan is lying according to his questions history, he was 16 in 1994. if he were married 25 years, he got married when he was 10. :) he's probably single

Depending how old you guys are, maybe he doesn't have the money for it. But that should never stop him from buying you anything for valentines day. I mean I see a lot of married couples, I don't think it's even a Holiday for them but it should be. It's ashame today should be the most romantic day or special day for every couple in every state. If you feel like you wanna prove him that you love him a whole lot. SUPRISE HIM, buy him or make him something or do something special for him on valentines day MEANING TODAY and give it to him. It will show him you took your time to actually do something speecial for him. Like I made my boyfriend something out of clay, But since we had no school all week, I don't know if anything happened or if I could still paint it. It may be late but to do something couragous and special for him, it's not only a guys job, it's also a girls job also to do cute, special, and nice things for your significant other.

    Well good luck!

Source(s): I left you some helpful tips. If anything else google comes in handy or a phone call to your boyfriend about how your feeling if he loves you still or not. Thats the most serious issue there! Don't waste your time on somebody who doesn't care for you or love you anymore.

No, its not, you're just a selfish moron like most females. Its a fake holiday - originally invented by the Romans, then corrupted by the Catholic Church to force pagans to convert - and now its a hallmark holiday. Its a joke, and so are you if you put any stock into this. Love has nothing to do with getting you some crap for valentines day, get over it and move on with your life.

Source(s): Married for 25 years to the woman of my dreams.

Why would you judge a seven-month relationship on one day? Has he been good to you for the rest of it?

    ^Ethan said it perfectly.

We are doing no cost stuff today like massages, etc. I refuse to buy stuff for V day. Maybe you guys should try that.
