Using your car on company Business.Where can I find current info ?
Where can find the current info , my Company say we are only entitled to 25p a mile, but I am sure it was at least 37p a mile in my last post in the early 1900's. I am sure they are trying it on but I want to be able to show & quote proof officaly.

It's 25p per mile minimum but it can be up to 45p per mile at your manager''s discretion (up to 10,000) per year.

It is up to the company how much they make their mileage allowance. There is nothing to say it must be this that or the other. So check your contract for your companies clause on this. There is a ceiling of 45p but that doesn't mean they must pay that. They could pay 10p a mile if anyone would accept it!

What the company says is bullsh//t
The company policy is IRRELEVENT - its YOUR car YOU decide what you will accept to use it on company business
(However any amount over HMRCs guidlines (currently up to 45p/mile) they regard as payment in kind and is taxable)
Is up to you - you COULD insist that this is the amount you require to use your car on company business.
(Remember its YOUR car not THEIRS - YOU determine when and where its used.not THEM)
Personally I refused to use my car on company business unless it was covered under company insurance. AND the mileage rate was reasonable
I had an accident where somebody drove into my car while on company business and wrote it off. This caused me a load of hassle
I asked the company for the loan of a company vehicle for a couple of days (there were loads in the car pool) but they refused saying that their milage payment was the limit of their liability
From that day I refused point blank to use any car I had on company business
It cost them a fortune in train fares and car hire.)

while you're taking IRS deduction, you are able to declare repayment offered via the business enterprise. so which you would be able to easily deduction the allowance in way over the repayment. It relies upon on the non-public use repayment fee of business enterprise motor vehicle.

Pretty sure it depends on company policy. Also you need to be insured to use your car for business purposes.
