Whats the difference between a sociopath and a psychopath?

Psychopathy and sociopathy are both anti-social personality disorders. While both these disorders are the result of an interaction between genetic predispositions and environmental factors, psychopathy leans towards the hereditary whereas sociopathy tends towards the environmental.

Psychopaths are born with temperamental differences such as impulsivity, cortical underarousal, and fearlessness that lead them to risk-seeking behavior and an inability to internalize social norms. On the other hand, sociopaths have relatively normal temperaments; their personality disorder being more an effect of negative sociological factors like parental neglect, delinquent peers, poverty, and extremely low or extremely high intelligence.

the main difference, a sociopath is not very smart usually been caught when he does smthn illegal or wrong but a psychopath is so smart that he is not caught easily-- also first one doesnt like people and tries to stay away from public , but second one is generally in the public, has a good job, friends-- u can thnk hes very nice and polite but actualyy he has a mask on his face which hides his real personality. u can see and understand a sociopath easily u can see it in his dirty clothing meaningless hateful eyes etc but a psycho is generalyy attractive polite and looks innocent to all.. this is the main difference between them btw psychos generally have high IQ!

My take, a sociopath is an antisocial person who only has their best interest at heart, and a psychopath is a brainy sociopath and doesn't care if you know it, 'cause they know you can't do anything about it..
