Can you join the marines with a felony theft charge?

Friend of mine made a dumb mistake- I feel bad because of his dream to be a Marine & he's not a minor, which I believe is enough to be disqualified, but i'm not sure..

why would he want to?? Marines will destroy him once they find out about the charges. We are all about Honor, Courage, and Integrity and it sounds like this 'friend' does not have any Honor or Integrity. So the marines may not be a good fit for him

Your friend will never be a Marine or a member of any branch of the Armed Forces.
