Sony Head Unit Quality?

I found a head unit at my local audio store the other day that I think I want to get. In the past I have always bought Kenwood because I know they are good and I figure why not always buy the on you know is good. I have heard the Sony brand speakers and such and I know that in comparison to other brands they are poop, but I was wondering about the head units. I don't care about the ease of use or anything, just the quality of the unit, mainly how it sounds. I just like the features on the Sony and I think it looks pretty nice and is at a better price than the comparable pioneer they have, although if stuck with that choice I would go with a cheaper unit. So anyways thanks for answering.

The problem with Sony Head Units is they don't push out very much power to your mid-range speakers this is how they get away with such a cheap price, brands like Pioneer, Alpine, and Kenwood decks push out a good amount of power to your stock speakers.

Basically there is nothing wrong with Sony and they offer you a good amount of features for a cheap price but they slack on the power output of there devices.

Bottom line a higher quality brand like Pioneer or Kenwood will make your stock speakers pound and sound better than the Sony will.

If your on a budget Pioneers 2011/2012 line-ups offer an insane amount of features for $80 to $100 bucks you can pick one up off eBay. I'd suggest the Pioneer DEH-4500BT or the Pioneer DEH-2500UI both come with a solid range of features with good power output for pretty much under $100 bucks and they blow Sony's brand out of the water for the same price range.
