  • Buick LeSabre security light?

    I have a 2001 Buick LeSabre and it has been owned by my family since it was new, I got it a few months ago. 3 times since I have gotten it, randomly, about once a month, the security light near the temp gauge has come on, while I was driving it, for about 30 seconds lit up solid. I haven't had any issues getting in or out or getting it started, Should I be worried about this light? Anyone know what might cause it to come on?

  • Spark plug wires or something like that...?

    I have a 2001 Buick LeSabre. I had a friend helping me change my oil (mainly disposing me of it) and I told him about the poor MPG my car was getting compared to what its supposed to, he suggested that I get new spark plugs, so I got some. When we started to change them, the wires broke, they were the originals still, so we got new ones from AutoZone.

    After we installed them the car ran the smoothest it ever had, for about 30 seconds, then one of the cylinders was misfiring. So he said the wires were bad and the next day (AutoZone was closed by then). Got the new wires and the car was absolutely fine. Now, 1 week later, as I am driving home it starts misfiring again out of nowhere. The check engine light started flashing, like it did the first time, and the car has a stuttery acceleration again.

    I called my friend and he says its the spark plug wires, so tommorow I intend to go to AutoZone and swap them out again, I just wanted to get someone elses opinion, I have the AutoZone wires with lifetime replacement, so it won't hurt to swap them out again, but I fear this might not be the problem (or the AutoZone wires are that bad...)

    Any thoughts?

  • How do you hook a PC to an old HDTV?

    I'm looking to hook my old retired gaming pc up to my 60" RCA TV, but it's an older TV. The inputs it has are S-Video, RCA, and Component (RGB). My Alienware Aurora R2 has ouputs for DVI, VGA, and HDMI. I am looking for the cheapest way to hook the pc up to the TV, I bought a Monoprice VGA to S-Video converter on Amazon, but it didn't display right and it was black and white. Anyone have any advice for this matter other than buy a new tv with HDMI lol.

  • ASUS Sabretooth 990FX w/Gskill Sniper RAM Configuration?

    I just built a computer yesterday. Its a gaming rig, I'm somewhat new to building PC's but it worked , so I guess I did ok. My question is about the ram. I have the ASUS Sabretooth 990FX/GEN 3 Rev 2. In there is a AMD FX-8350 8 core 4Ghz processor. I am also running a GTX 600ti OC (The MSI Twin Frozr IV). The PSU is a Rosewill Lightning 800w continuous psu. Also not sure if its important but its running a Corsair Force 128GB SSD w/Windows 7 Home Premium.

    I put in the RAM which is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... into the corresponding slots. When I was reading the reviews on the RAM it said that most of the people had to go into their BIOS and manually set the RAM to 1866Mhz because the MOBO recognizes it as 1333Mhz. So I went to the BIOS and what do you know it said it was 1333, so I changed it to 1866 and hit save and reset, thought well thats over no big deal, but when it comes back on it says that Overclocking Failed! Press F1 to configure.

    Anybody know how to fix this problem? Any help is awesome.

  • Samsung Galaxy S3 Network Authentication Faliure?

    My phone was on the wifi and working just fine watching YouTube. All of the sudden it stopped loading and I noticed it wasn't on the wifi anymore. It said authentication error. So I typed in the password again just in case it forgot it, still said authentication error. I restarted it, turned off wifi, forgot the connection, turned back on wifi and nothing. I have since also rebooted my wireless router and I have tested the wifi from my laptop, and it works fine, what do I do at this point, make no sense to me.

  • How to use facebook activity feed.?

    Hey there everyone, I am trying to use HTML 5 and the Facebook activity feed widget. I am in a web design class and I am redoing my local firedepartments web page as my final exam because that is how the class is set up. The code I have that I copy/pasted into my page is

    <div id="fb-root"></div>

    <script>(function(d, s, id) {

    var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];

    if (d.getElementById(id)) return;

    js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;

    js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/pages/Hebron-Volunteer-Fire-Deparment/303732113677";

    fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);

    }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script>

    <div class="fb-activity" href="http://facebook.com/pages/Hebron-Volunteer-Fire-De... data-site="hebronfire.net" data-width="700px" data-height="350px" data-header="true" data-recommendations="false"></div>

    I filled in the hrref="" part myself, I have tried all sorts of combinations of urls and moving around the code and none of it will show up. I have tested it in Chrome, Firefox and IE, all in the latest versions, and it shows up in none of them. If you need more of the code I can send you the HTML and CSS file for the page, but I don't see anything in there that I think would ruin the page.

  • Sony Head Unit Quality?

    I found a head unit at my local audio store the other day that I think I want to get. In the past I have always bought Kenwood because I know they are good and I figure why not always buy the on you know is good. I have heard the Sony brand speakers and such and I know that in comparison to other brands they are poop, but I was wondering about the head units. I don't care about the ease of use or anything, just the quality of the unit, mainly how it sounds. I just like the features on the Sony and I think it looks pretty nice and is at a better price than the comparable pioneer they have, although if stuck with that choice I would go with a cheaper unit. So anyways thanks for answering.

  • Turn signal stays steady rather than flashing?

    My mom drives a 1994 Buick Regal, recently her turn signal started staying steady in the front and the back does not light up. It indicates the same way on the dash. If you wiggle the switch some you can get it to flash and both the front and back work just fine. It says that it stays steady when a bulb is blown but that is not the problem. Is it the swith? Or is their an easier solution. Her mechanic said it would be like 300 bucks to replace it cause of the airbag and stuff. Thanks for any help.

  • Windows restarts after adding new ram.?

    I am helping my cousin out here. He usually uses me for support but idk the answer to this one. My cousin just bought 16GB of 1333 MHz RAM for his Alienware Aurora R2. He got the pc running it passes the post and the BIOS recognizes the 16GB of RAM. Whenever the pc turns on it goes to the pc was improperly shut down screen, which it was not. He selects start Windows normally, and it starts to boot up, as soon as the Windows start screen finishes loading, the pc restarts and the same process happens. Also, e first time he did this it did say that it recognized the hardware change.

  • I am a student and have a question about a car loan?

    I am a full time student and am currently unemployed although I plan to have a job in the next few weeks. I need to get a car before I get the job, because right now I have been taking my dad to work on schools days, but if I have a job I might be at work whenever he needs the car. Walking is not really an option since my work is going to be 20 miles one way, that's also where my school is, my dad is gonna be the one paying back the loan, bu his credit is not good so the bank wants us to get a new car and the insurance is going to be unaffordable for me at that point. I know this is slot of info but I'm sure someone still will say just walk or something due to past experience with this site...

  • Question about car speakers...?

    The two rear speakers in my car have blow, ya know the crappy stock ones, I have 2 subwoofers in the back, and I like my music loud, but if I turn the volume up the blown bass of the stock speakers drowns out the subs, I would like to eventually replace them, but right now thats not in my budget, so I was wondering if there would be any way to cut a wire or something and get rid of the bass in the stock speakers that way I can "bump". I am good with this kind of thing so even if it sounds like I don't know much I pick up fast, I installed my sounds without knowing anything about it and they didn't catch on fire or blow up so I any tips would be nice, thanks! If it helps the car is a '92 Ford Escort 4 door.
