Sandwiches for dinner ideas?

I fancy a light meal for tea. I'm 10wks pregnant too so I want something easy on the stomach and obviously without the foods I can't eat. So what type of sandwiches would make a filling main meal and what sides can I have with it?

    pinwheel wraps

    Ingredients

You will need: 4 large flour tortillas, 1 8-oz. package of cream cheese (low fat can be used), 3 tsp. of chopped green onion, 3 tsp. of chopped green pepper, 3 tsp. chopped parsley, 3 tsp. chopped black olives, 1 tbsp. of mayonnaise or sour cream, and enough thinly sliced deli meat--ham, turkey, or another kind--to cover the tortillas.

    Process

Mix the cream cheese, green pepper, onion, parsley, olives, mayonnaise. Lay out the tortillas. Spread the mixture over the tortillas evenly. Lay the deli meat on top of the cream cheese mixture. Roll the tortilla up tightly. Refrigerate for one hour. Using a sharp knife, slice the tortillas into slices about 1/4 inch thick. You may serve these immediately, or you can refrigerate them for later. Serve with sour cream, salsa.

    Artichoke puff pastries

1 can (14 to 16 oz) artichoke hearts, well drained and chopped

1/2 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing

1/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese (1 oz)

1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

    1 clove garlic, finely chopped

    1/8 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper

1 package (17.3 oz) frozen puff pastry, thawed

    2 tablespoons half-and-half

    1. Heat oven to 400°F. Line large cookie sheet with foil or cooking parchment paper; lightly spray foil or paper with cooking spray. In medium bowl, mix all ingredients except pastry and half-and-half.

    2. On lightly floured surface, roll 1 sheet of pastry into 12x9-inch rectangle, trimming edges if necessary. Cut into twelve 3-inch squares.

    3. Place 1 tablespoon artichoke mixture on each square. Lightly brush edges with half-and-half. Fold pastry over filling to make triangles. Crimp edges with fork to seal. Place on cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining pastry and artichoke mixture. Brush tops of triangles with half-and-half. Refrigerate 20 minutes.

    4. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.

When I was pregnant I ate the same thing for lunch every day until I gave birth.

Cheese kaiser bun with mayo, dijon honey mustard, lettuce, tomato and nitrate free cooked turkey breast with a moishes pickle on the side. DELICIOUS!

Remember you're trying to avoid listeria during pregnancy so if you're going to eat cold cuts, make sure they are nitrate free and fully cooked! And if you're ever craving a hot dog, the veggie dogs are really not that bad ;)

    Enjoy, good luck and congratulations!

Turkey on ciabatta with maybe lettuce, tomato, and garlic mayo.

Turkey's going to be light on your stomach, but you want to add a little flavor somewhere. I usually do turkey with a chipotle sauce, but if your stomach can't handle that a garlic mayo or aioli should be nice.

Oh and maybe add some avocado or do spinach instead of lettuce.

white bread bun cut it half. Put a little bit of mayonaise on the bread halves and put them to toast on a pan. when they are brownish turn them for a little while take them out. now put 1 bologna and one ham of your choice on the pan. when those are nicely cooked put a slice of asadero cheese (or your choice) on them. when cheese melts go ahead and put them on the bun. you can put lettuce and tomato on or eat just like that. :D That was always enough for me put if you want you can bake some potatoes in the over with a drizzle of virgin olive oil pepper and salt.

i suggest you have something that you fancy in the sandwich because i believe your body knows how to cope with this stranger forming in your body. for sides, apart from wedgies or a baked potato, why not have an apple or avocado? cheese would give you the calcium you both need at this time.
