Does Brick or Vinyl withstand cold weather better?

I'm doing a project for a BC Canadian house and need to know which would be more likely to find on a house

Brick combined with styrofoam insulation and energy efficient PVC windows and doors provide best protection against winter.

I only need to light up the fireplace once a day after i installed the energy efficiency system.

And the average temperature is 73 fahrenheit

properly set and sealed brick will last longer- however - if it isn't set right or sealed it will erode in the canadian winters and springs.

    Vinyl weathers much better.

    You're welcome.
