How do you clean wood floors?

How often do you clean your wood floors and what do you use to clean them.

My relatives wood floors never seems to stay clean. They are dusty again almost immediately. They sweep the floors with a dust mop once a week. This is what the duster is made of-

They do have dogs...so i'm sure that contributes to the dust.

    dry mop twice a week and damp mop once every two weeks

    Use a dust mop or vacuum, damp mop only.
