Over what domain is the function valid?

The formula is Y=27+72x-1.5x where x is time in minutes. I figured out that the time for the intake to be at a maximum is 24 minutes and the maximum intake is 891 grams. The question I can't figure iut is over what domain is this function valid? Explain why the function makes no sense outside of this domain. I am so confused. Thank you very much.

    You mistyped the function.

    It's not 27 + 72x - 1.5x,

    it's 27 + 72x - 1.5x^2.

That's assuming you were right about the 24 minutes giving a maximum.

You haven't said what physical situation you're talking about, at all,

so it's hard to guess what function values are disallowed.

But my first guess would be that for some reason Y has to be positive.

If so, the function will make no sense when x is larger than about 48.4 minutes.

Also, it seems likely that the function makes no sense when x (time) is negative. (?)
