My employees are unable to log onto our network from a workstation that has been turned off for several months?
I know that network connectivity is not the issue; I need to make it possible for users to access the domain from that computer as quickly as possible to avoid losing profit for the company. I also do not want to create any issues for a third-party application that identifies computers by SID. What should I do?
I have ideas, but I don't know if any will actually fix the problem. PLEASE HELP.
-Reinstalling Windows on the computer and create a new account in the domain
-Rename the computer and create a new computer account with the new name in ADUC
-Reset the computer account in ADUC, move the computer to a workgroup and then rejoin it to the domain
-Move the computer to a workgroup then rejoin it to a domain.

First, just try disconnecting from the network and then reconnecting (Sometimes computer can literally be that goofy). Next, try connecting to a work group if you have one. After that, you can try remaining the computer but you dont have to reset the acount. If that doesn't work, then have your network admin make sure that the specified work station has permission to access the desired network. If that still doesn't work, then you will want to try using remote file access, follow this link to help you set up remote file access: http://msdn.microsoft.com/enus/library/windows/har...
WARNING: Unless you deleted sections of the windows operating system which it doesn't sound like is happening DON"T DELETE WINDOWS!
