Jesus died for my sins?

I'm not quite sure how one correlates to the other. How does HE die for MY sins? And if you can explain this does this mean that I can hit myself in the foot with a shovel for your mortgage?

Update:

Man... you guys take things way too seriously... Did you not notice the "does this mean that I can hit myself in the foot with a shovel for your mortgage?" part?

So ready to proselytize... so unwilling to pay attention.

He died for your sins because some guy named Adam was tricked into eating a piece of fruit by a talking snake, which brought sin into the world. See Romans 5:12-21

You see, only by being brutally tortured and hung on a cross to die, Jesus (who is supposed to be all-powerful) was able to magically absorb the sins of everyone who had ever existed or would exist in the future.

"And if you can explain this does this mean that I can hit myself in the foot with a shovel for your mortgage"

Well, see you're not an all-powerful being like Jesus (who, for some reason, couldn't absorb the sins through any other way but a painful death).

It all makes perfect sense once you think about.

    (not really)

You should not be the begotten son of God , so cannot even sweep the dust in the way of anyone but could die for your own sins. He died for cause of your sin not for your sins. The love of God. Here is quoted John 3:16

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Stretch your hands and grasp Jesus instead of a shovel to hit yourself.

    Blessing

Jesus came into this world to die on a cross to take away the sins of the whole world never to see them again, but we are all born into this world dead in our sins (romans 5:12) seperated from the life of God.

Jesus was the perfect human being, being God's Son and all, but he did die for your sins. He knew that everyone sinned so in order to make it so that we can repent and make it for us to go to Heaven, he died on the cross and rose three days later

According to what I was told, sacrificing pure blood was the only way for man to get access to God. Jesus died and his blood erased all of our sins because he was so pure. I'm not sure if what I said that exactly right. And to make fun of another religion isn't very nice, you know.

Jesus died for us so he could erase original sin, which was committed by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (apple story). HOWEVER, we cannot be relieved of original sin, unless you are baptized, which is when we are magically connected to Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection.

Even before any of us were born, He already died for our sins. He died and rose from the dead and that have strengthened our faith in Him. By strengthening our faith, He had given a promise that we are all going to be saved as long as we also repent or ask for forgiveness for our sins.

Who do then he is responsible. human sin can not be redeemed by others. every man will give an account on what they have done later in the eternal hereafter. offense will result in sin. will produce the reward goodness. later sins in the Hereafter and the reward will be weighed and determined whether it will go to heaven or hell.

Ask a religious person at a church to explain this. You are questioning a Christian belief, do you want a Christian to explain to you why they have this belief or do you want an atheist to tell you about something they are biased against and know nothing about?
